In 1987, Ken Semenach attended the weddings for two of his best friends and could not believe that someone was actually paying for the DJ services being supplied. The sound quality was brutal, the song selection limited and each disc jockey provided a lackluster performance. It was at that moment his love of music, already extensive personal library and knowledge of sound equipment was utilized to proceed with the formation of Modern Music Disc Jockey Services and its subsequent launch in 1988.
Owner Ken Semenach provides over 24 years of disc jockey and karaoke experience with approximately 400 weddings to credit. Ken loves to communicate with all age groups and always arrives at every function with a positive attitude and full of energy. He attempts to stay up to date in every music genre and ensures that every detail to sound quality and song selection is addressed. Although Ken has knowledge of all types of music, the 80’s are his specialty.
Mike Odendahl
DJ/10 Years of Disc Jockey Experience
Mike has just come on board with Modern Music in a sub-contracted manner. Even though Mike has his own endeavors to pertain to throughout the year, when performing for this company, he is considered a valuable asset and provides an extremely high level of quality and professionalism. Mike brings to our organization over a decade of disc jockey experience and supplies clients in the Niagara Region with superior entertainment services up to 45 times per year. Moreover, Mike is a musician, video editor, audio recorder and songwriter. Modern Music prides itself in only using high quality equipment and the gear that Mike uses not only meets, but also exceeds our expectations.
Grant Gibbons
Modern Music DJ/9 Years of Disc Jockey Experience
Another great step forward for Modern Music has been the sub-contracted addition of Grant Gibbons. Grant started his disc jockey career in Charleston, South Carolina (2002) to supplement his income, but after his first event, the passion and love of this profession grew to more than just a need for extra cash flow. When asked to identify the positive benefits of being a mobile disc jockey, Grant will quickly reply, “Because I love listen to music and most importantly, I can put a smile on a each and every person in that room just by playing one of their favourite songs.” To sum it up, Grant thoroughly prides himself in being the prime contributing factor for an evening of pure enjoyment to all attending. He is extremely knowledgeable of all music genres and can perform for any age group or organization; Grant has even spun music for the US Navy and The US Airforce. There is no type of venue that he will keep him away with some events taking place on beaches, plantations or city sidewalks. Modern Music is very proud to have Grant Gibbons as a part of its team and has complete confidence of his ability to satisfy any client’s musical needs.
